Describe and correct the error in finding the solution of the equation 2x=6x

The error is that both sides of the equation have a variable. So if you were to combine your like terms, then you'd leave one side without a number and if your teacher is saying there is a left over number then it will be 0

p       >/=   -7/8

The last two equation only has the equal "=" sign. The greater than ">" sign was removed.

Greater than ">" sign should not be removed because the expression is an inequality.

Putting only an equal sign will limit the number option into 1. It will only make half of the inequality true. P = -7/8 but it is not > -7/8.

The error in the given solution was that the inequality sign > was taken out of the equation. It should not be because the expression is an inequality. p can be any number that is greater than or equal to -7/8. It is not limited to only -7/8.
